Pick the village and type the plot number in the box above: BhoomiScan fetches the plot's map report from Bhu Naksha Odisha (bhunakshaodisha.nic.in), the Revenue Department's plot-map portal, free with an account. You do not need the RI circle or the sheet number. The map shows where the plot lies and its boundary; its owner is in the Record of Rights, which the map's answer opens. On the portal itself, choose your district and press Proceed; in the map that opens, pick the tehsil, the RI circle, the village and the sheet, and type the plot number.
How to open a plot on Bhu Naksha
- Open Bhu Naksha Odisha at bhunakshaodisha.nic.in.
- Under Select District, choose your district and press Proceed. The map opens in a new tab.
- In the map's Location panel, pick the district again, then the tehsil, the RI circle, the village and the sheet number. These lists are in Odia.
- Type the plot number into the Plot No. box and search. The map moves to the plot and outlines it, and Plot Info gives its land class and area, with links to its Record of Rights.

Eleven districts carry another name on the portal
The district list is spelled the Odia way. Angul is Anugola; Balasore is Baleshwar; Bargarh is Baragada; Bolangir is Balangir; Boudh is Boud; Cuttack is Kataka; Deogarh is Debagada; Kandhamal is Kandhamala; Kendrapara is Kendrapada; Nayagarh is Nayagada; Sundargarh is Sundaragada.
What Bhu Naksha shows, and what it does not
- The village map, sheet by sheet: every plot's boundary and its plot number.
- The plots around yours, so you can see what borders it on each side.
- For the plot you search, Plot Info gives its land class and area, in Odia, and links to the front and back pages of its Record of Rights on Bhulekh, which name the holder.
- It does not show a mortgage, a sale not yet mutated or a court case: loans and sales are in the Encumbrance Certificate, and cases are in the court records.
- The portal says its maps are for viewing only and not for any legal purpose, and that neither the National Informatics Centre nor the Revenue and Disaster Management Department is responsible for their accuracy.

Checking it before money moves
You can read the land record from a name or a plot number, and search the same name across the District Courts, the High Court, the tribunals and the Supreme Court. Both answer in minutes and cite the page each fact came from, so an advocate can check the source rather than take a summary on trust.
