Free Hold (also called Patta or full ownership) is the strongest form of land title: indefinite, transferable without restriction, and not subject to annual land revenue payments. Most residential and agricultural land in Odisha is held on Free Hold. Free Hold contrasts with Lease Hold (state lease) and Government Allotment (with attached conditions).
